Gene Lester was raised in East Hampton, New York. Mr. Lester
completed his undergraduate studies at Binghamton University in 1993, where he received a
Bachelor of Science degree in Management with concentrations in Finance and East Asian
Studies. He received his law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law in
1996.
Before joining Sharpless & Stavola in 1998, Mr. Lester clerked for the Honorable P.
Trevor Sharp, U.S. Magistrate Judge of the Middle District of North Carolina.
During his clerkship, Mr. Lesters practice involved extensive legal research and
brief writing on a variety of civil and criminal law issues. Since joining Sharpless
& Stavola, Mr. Lesters practice has been focused within the areas of
professional liability defense and commercial litigation. In addition, Mr. Lester
lectures and practices in the area of employment law.
Mr. Lester is admitted to practice in all North Carolina state and federal courts.
Gene and his wife, Shani, reside in Greensboro, NC. He enjoys golfing, spending time
at the beach and watching Demon Deacon basketball.
