Since her admission to the North Carolina Bar and all North Carolina
state and federal courts in 1994, Brenda McClearn has focused on the defense of
professionals and corporations in both civil and administrative settings.
Ms. McClearns defense of medical professionals has included successful trials in
both state and federal courts and the defense of licensed professionals before their
respective licensing boards during investigations and hearings. Her clients have
included physicians, nurses, dentists, mental health professionals, veterinarians,
hospitals, nursing and assisted care facilities, and health care associations such as the
American Medical Association.
Ms. McClearns representation of architects and engineers in projects as small as
unit buildings and as large as the design of city waste collection systems and county
jails has led her to other diverse forms of construction litigation in which she has
represented both contractors and material suppliers.
Ms. McClearn has also been retained to represent large corporate interests on a national
level for organizations such as Degussa Corporation and Senergy, Inc. Her defense of
business interests is broad enough to incorporate claims in employment, sexual harassment,
products liability, workers' compensation, RICO, and other business torts.
Outside of the office, Ms. McClearn enjoys running, gardening, dining with friends, and
time with her family.
